BMW 5 Series headlight restoration

Starting condition

Classic UV damage: the outer surface of both lenses had gone cloudy and yellow, scattering the beam and ageing the front of the car.

What we did

1. Lenses masked off and wet sanded through progressive grades.
2. Machine polished back to full clarity.
3. Sealed to slow the UV damage returning.

The result

Clear lenses with the internals visible again, front and centre on the car. Both photographed on the same day, in the same light, from the same position.

This is surface damage on the outside of the lens, which is what restoration fixes. A cracked lens, or one fogged with moisture inside the unit, needs a new unit instead.
